I'm a little bit late on the reveal to this one. Among it being finals week, I've also been working 40 hour weeks, and lo and behold.. I developed a fever yesterday and was bedridden. I finally found some time today thanks to the fact that the dr said I couldn't go anywhere until my fever had been gone for 24 hours. Sometimes sickness is a blessing in disguise.

I took inspiration from the colors of the cave paintings. I also tried to use materials that I feel like they may have had on hand. Throughout I have used wood beads (purple and natural colored) and apatite matte heishi beads (the blue ones). I also used hemp cord which I occasionally wrapped with oxodized copper wire for interest and security.
The focal stones are Landscape Picture Jasper. I loved that they almost looked like a shadowy cave. They were perfect for this hop. Before they were just perfect for me to hoard.
Initially, I was not going to use a clasp as it fit perfectly over my head, but then I remembered that I have a tiny head, so I should make it so that normal head sized people would be able to wear it too. I chose one of my vintage mother of pearl buttons. It doesn't exactly have the earthiness as the rest of the piece, but I was so in love with the look.
Thanks for letting me participate, Leah and for not chopping my head off when I said I'd be a bit late on the reveal!
