I love going to Savannah because I have amazing friends there. I was invited to stay with my friends April 10-12 to try out their new jewelry studio that they built to have classes in. It was awesome! Chris is a great teacher. She shows you what you need to know and much more. Here are all of the pieces that I created while I was there.
These earrings were made with stars that Chris had made years ago. All I did was add earwires to them. I call them star friend earrings.
This is a simple wire ring that I made. I was just really playing with the wire. I don't really make a whole lot of rings typically.
This is the second ring I made. I was playing with flattening the wire.
I decided to add a bead to the flattened wire in this one.
I flattened some larger wire to create this cuff, and I added some beautiful sea glass beads.
I really wanted to make a pendant with this quartz point, so I attached it to a piece of copper with some of the flattened wire.
Chris instructed me on how to create the setting for this one. I have the quartz point set on a plate of decorated copper with square, silver wire. I didn't do the best job soldering, but I still love the piece. The quartz crystal is even more amazing in person. It's beautiful.
This is a simple ring made from a copper pipe with a piece of cool silver bezel wire soldered on. The best part about this ring is that my dad loved it when he saw it and decided to wear it as a wedding band. He stopped wearing his 11 years ago because he was having a reaction to the gold.
These came together so quickly. I just really wanted to use the twisted silver wire that Chris put in my kit. I balled up the ends, added the beads, and then soldered the earwires that I hand formed to the rest of the earring. I was super impressed with myself on these.
I'm so happy I got to go down to Savannah and spend some time with my friends there and make beautiful things! I cannot wait to go again!
