From there, I explored Market and King streets. I am such a city girl at heart. I love the hustle and bustle. I love finding locally owned shops. I love watching the people, and I love just being able to be a part of it. Visiting other cities makes me realize how much I miss New York.
When I arrived back to my friend's house, we had fun hanging out, eating sushi, and playing with their adorable puppy, Cooper.
On Sunday, Erika and I went back into the city to explore some more. Per the suggestion of A Beautiful Mess (link above), we visited Hominy Grill for lunch. Erika had fried green tomatoes, and I had the salmon potato cakes. They were both delicious! I had never had a poached egg before; it was awesome!!
After that, we went to the bead shop a couple blocks up. I know. I always manage to find a bead shop =]
Here is a photo of the loot I scored.
From there, we went to explore King street more. We found a great cupcake shop where we shared a red velvet cupcake. I decided the heart sprinkle made a nice accessory.
We also stopped and watched some break dancers. One of them jumped over seven of us! It was really impressive.
We spent a long time in a cool hat shop we found. The shop really felt homey, and all the hats were quality made.
Charleston is a really beautiful city. Many of the houses are unusual, beautiful colors. All of the plant life is really beautiful too.
I wish I could take pictures of all my jewelry on this wall!
One of my favorite small details about Charleston were the sewer covers. How gorgeous is this?
I hope you feel as inspired as I do to create beauty today, and find beauty in unexpected places! Sewer covers! Who knew, right?!
