I've decided to join up on the new earring challenge. I will be making (at least) one pair of earrings every week for the whole year! This post is a round up of the first four weeks of 2015.
This first pair of earrings I made with some beautiful crystals, copper wire, sari silk, and hand-painted porcelain owl beads from Sam's Bead Shop. I twisted the sari silk into the wire and then twisted the wire and crystals beside the owl. The earwires I handmade with copper wire and added another crystal to.
The second pair of earrings were made with vintage components. I found the top beads when I was going through my grandmother's button stash. I'm so gr grateful o her. She left me so many pretty things after she passed away. It's nice to be able to look around and be reminded of her. The bottom beads are light peach, vintage, glass buttons that a friend gave to me. She said she had been hoarding them for 20 years and she just wanted to see something done with them. I showed her these earrings, and she loved them!
The third pair of earrings I made with watch components, silver plated chain, and iridescent Swarovski butterflies. I tend to purchase a lot of butterfly components. You may have noticed that my logo prom prominently tures a butterfly. To read the story of the butterfly, please go to the about us page.
